Cyprus beaches are surrounded by many lovely hotels which are great for romantic getaways, honeymoons, weddings and holidays in the sun.
You can enjoy year-round sunshine and if you want to discover all the beaches, just hire a car before you arrive as this makes it easier to get around.
Cyprus beaches have golden sand and others are a mixture of sand and pebble.
Many have tiny coves or long stretches of golden sand with sand dunes in isolated locations and many have popular water-sports such as scuba diving and sailing.

The popular resort of Larnaca has some lovely beaches in the city center and along this stretch of the coast.
In the town you will find Finikoudes promenade lined with palm trees (Finikoudes means palm trees in Greek) and an abundance of places to eat.
Beach-side restaurants and bars line the promenade and the shops and hotels are just a few yards away.

Limassol Beaches
The beaches of Limassol include Kourium beach which has a spectacular backdrop of the Greco-Roman Amphitheatre of Kourium.
There are many nearby villages and towns such as Pissouri Bay (3km from the inland village of Pissouri) which is 30km to the west of Limassol town center and the same distance from Paphos.

The most famous of all Cyprus beaches is at Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodite beach) where Aphrodite arose from the sea.
There are many lovely beaches in Paphos which include the sandy horseshoe shaped beach of Coral Bay. The beach is between two headlands and is surrounded by many lovely villas.

Some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches are on the west-coast of Cyprus.
For example, those at Latchi and Polis on the edge of the Akamas Peninsula are a must to visit.
Lara Bay is known locally as Lara Beach and Turtle Beach. This is where the endangered loggerhead and green turtles lay their eggs.
The area is very beautiful with a very rugged landscape so it’s advisable to use a 4×4 vehicle if you travel to the Akamas Peninsula. On your way visit the legendary Baths of Aphrodite and Lara Bay widely known as the breeding ground of the Greenback Turtle (endangered turtles).
Then onto the northwest peninsula, to the coastal beauty of Chrysochou Bay. Rest a while and bathe in the tranquil waters.

The lovely resort of Ayia Napa is famous for having the best sandy beaches such as Nissi Beach. The waters are calm and turquoise blue and the beach is golden soft sand so ideal for all the family.
There’s a tiny island about 50-100m from the shore which people love to swim to.

Protaras Beaches
Fig Tree Bay and and Sirena Bay are very popular Protaras Beaches with shallow and clear waters.
Fig Tree Bay is the larger of the two and edged with hotels and restaurants. More secluded is Konnon Bay which is 2km north of Cavo Greko.
