Traditional Cyprus Villages …
Cyprus Villages are especially good for those who enjoy the traditional way of life.
The following villages are popular places to visit and stay but there are many more. Some are wine growing villages so you can sample the local wine at your leisure.
The popular coastal resorts are not far away but you will probably need to hire a car if you want to discover the rest of the island.
Cyrus Villages ~ Pissouri Bay & Pissouri Village
The hill-side village of Pissouri overlooks Pissouri Bay and the 2km beach which is just a 10 minute drive away. Pissouri is a traditional Cyprus village, with a pedestrianized square, a church, fountains and shops.
There are a wide variety of tavernas and bars where you can enjoy the local cuisine and wine.
The Columbia Beach Resort overlooks Pissouri Bay Beach, with extensive landscaped gardens and an 80 meter lagoon-style pool, sun terraces and wet bar.
Cyprus Villages ~ Kalavasos
Kalavasos is a very popular village just a short drive from Larnaca and Limassol.
Village life centers around the square and there are many lovely village houses offering all the comforts of modern living. Most apartments also come with pools so you can relax and enjoy your holiday in the sun.
The family-run Charalambos Holiday Cottage offers self-catering accommodation within walking distance of the local taverns.

Cyprus Village offers stone-built accommodation with free Wi-Fi. A buffet breakfast and Cypriot delicacies are served in a Taverna just 3 minutes walk away. There is also a swimming pool reserved for guests.
All units open to a balcony or patio with views of of the village and countryside. They come with a fully fitted kitchen with mini fridge, brick-clad stove and coffee maker. A flat-screen TV with satellite channels and hairdryer are included.

Myrto House
Myrto House is a charming stone-built complex surrounded by colourful flowers and citrus trees. The complex offers self-catering accommodation with air conditioning and a swimming pool.
All have a balcony or patio with views to the pool and come with 4-poster beds with orthopedic mattresses. The apartments have a well-equipped kitchenette, satellite TV and free WiFi. The taverna serves traditional Cypriot cuisine (free Wi-Fi is also available in the taverna).

Cyprus Villages ~ Lefkara Village
Lefkara is situated at the foot of the Troodos Mountains and only 30 km from Larnaca airport and 12 km from the Nicosia – Limassol highway. The village is famous for Lefkara lace which the local women have made for centuries.
There are many places to stay in Pano (Upper) Lefkara such as RedBlueDoor which offers fully equipped stone houses. They are a combination of traditional and modern and decorated in bright colours and feature stylish furnishings.
The houses are air conditioned with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, spacious living room with comfortable sofas, traditional rugs and satellite TV.

Cyprus Villages ~ Platres
Platres is situated on the southern slopes of the Troodos Mountain and ideal if you need a break from the sun. During the winter Platres becomes a popular skiing resort so you can ski in the mountains and swim in the nearby coastal resort of Limassol. The Troodos Hotel is only 5 km from Mount Olympus – (Mount Olympus is the highest peak at 1,952 meters).

Cyprus Villages ~ Lania Village
The lovely village of Lania is one of the many wine growing villages at the foot of the Troodos mountains.
Lania Cyprus is a wine growing village situated at the foot of the Troodos mountains on the way to Platres. One of 14 Commandaria villages, Lania is located 27km north of Limassol and south of the Troodos Mountains.
There are a couple of places to stay such as the Lania Royal Oak Villa. It is a 20 minute drive from Limassol and comes with a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room, fireplace and free Wi-Fi.
Roses Villa is in the village of Trimiklini which is 1.5 miles from Lania. The villa is just a short walk from taverns and mini markets and includes free Wi-Fi. There is a fully-equipped kitchen and patio overlooking the Troodos Mountain.
