St Georges Paphos (Ayios Georgios)
The small fishing village of St Georges Paphos (Ayios Georgios) is just a short distance from the village of Peyia. Of archaeological interest are the nearby remains of an ancient Basilica with floor mosaics still visible.
Just before you reach Ayios Georgios(facing the unusual Island of Geronisos), is the residential area of Sea Caves where there are many natural caves (hence the name).
The church of Agios Georgios overlooks the beach where you can enjoy snorkeling and scuba-diving.
St Georges fish restaurant offers fresh barbuni (red mullet), calamari and various other fish and meat dishes all served with delicious chips and the freshest of salads. The restaurant gets very busy on Sundays and there is a lovely terrace where you can dine under the vines, overlooking the sparkling blue Mediterranean sea.
The lovely church of St Georgesits on the hill top overlooking the sea.
A few minutes drive from here is the lovely resort of Coral Bay and a little further north is the stunning nature reserve of the Akamas Peninsula.
