About Me...

...and why I built this website!

My name is Carole and as I love traveling so much, I decided to create this website on Cyprus.

It gives me an opportunity to share my love of all things Greek and, at the same time, others can get to know and enjoy this lovely Mediterranean island.

Many people enjoy traveling and experiencing new countries and cultures and just like me, they enjoy surfing the web from the comfort of their home.

This enables us to enjoy an introduction to the culture and country of the place we want to visit which is essential if we are going to spend our hard earned cash visiting one of these lovely places in the sun.

I lived and worked in Athens before going to Cyprus so already had a knowledge of the Greek language, alphabet and culture.

The culture of Cyprus and Greece is very similar so I found it easy to adapt to living in Cyprus as well as in many other European countries. For me the Mediterranean countries are the best. They not only have an amazing year-round climate and a relaxed way of life but also a very tasty and healthy diet.

For some years my family and I ran a Greek restaurant in London so I am quite good at cooking. I often helped the chef and in the process learnt a lot about Greek cuisine.

I enjoy experiencing new cuisines as well as the traditional which are both healthy and easy to make. What can be more delicious than a plate of black eyed beans - or in Greek, louvia - cooked with marrow and served with oil and lemon. Simple, tasty and very healthy.

My years in Athens introduced me to the wonders of Greek Mythology which are also present in the lovely island of Cyprus which I hope you enjoy as much as I do.
