Shakespeare Festival

The annual Shakespeare festival plays are performed for three days in the stunning open-air ancient theatre of Kourion.

This beautiful Greco-Roman theatre overlooks the sparkling beaches and is used for open air music concerts and theatrical performances.

The ruins of the stadium, theatre and public baths are evidence of Roman conquest, while the shrines to Aphrodite and Apollo illustrate the city's deep Hellenic roots. Kourion was destroyed by an earthquake in 365 AD.

Geroskipou Delight Day

The lovely village of Geroskipou is famous for making the very tasty loukoumia otherwise known as Cyprus Delight. The event is held in the village square where demonstrations are held of the traditional way of making this delicious sweet.

Kataklysmos - Festival of the Flood in Coastal Cities

A Greek Orthodox festival focusing on water which marks the day of the Holy Spirit and which coincides with the feast of Pentecost or Whitsun. With the focus on water the best celebrations are held in the coastal cities with concerts and games near the waterfront and harbors.

Larnaca has the biggest celebrations lasting for 5 days starting with a procession to the sea with the priest bearing a cross. People sprinkle water over each other and the priest says prayers and then throws the sacred cross into the sea. People dive into the sea and the person who brings the cross back to the priest is blessed. This ceremony signals the start of the festival which include boat races and swimming competitions.

Along the popular Finkoudes promenade are open-air fairs and stalls selling traditional food and songs from Greek and Cypriot singers.

Ayia Napa has a three day celebration that includes traditional dancing and singing at the harbor.

Pafos celebrates the festival outside the lovely castle and at the harbor.

Natasa Theodoridou - Mackenzie, Larnaca

Natasa Theodoridou returns to Cyprus for a unique performance at the new XS Night & Day Club in Larnaca on the 15th of June 2012.

Theodoridou, born in Thessaloniki in Greece, is a well-known Greek singer and the only female Greek artist to have her first three albums achieve platinum status.

European Dance Festival

The European Dance Festival takes over the Rialto Theatre in Limassol when sixteen European countries unite for an extravaganza of contemporary dance, performances and inspiring workshops.
